When I moved to Southern Arizona in 2019 with my son, I knew two things: I was a father first, and I was ready to build a new chapter rooted in community, growth, and adventure. Originally from Iowa and a proud graduate of the University of Iowa with a degree in Business Management, I also hold an AA in Legal Studies and am a member of the National Association of Paralegals.

But beyond education and career, my true passion has always been helping people.

A Father and a Traveler

Raising my son as a single father has been my greatest joy and responsibility. Together, we’ve embraced adventure, and I’ve made it a priority to explore the world around us. Every quarter, I take a budget-friendly trip—and I invite others to join me. The best part? Most of my weekend getaways cost under $400, covering flights, lodging, transportation, and even activities. It’s proof that you don’t need to be wealthy to create rich experiences.

Building Financial Security for Others

As the owner of an independent insurance agency in Tucson, my work is about more than policies and premiums. I love saving people money, not just for the sake of saving—but so they can redirect those savings toward their passions, whether that’s traveling, investing in a home, or building a brighter future.

Beyond business, I also serve as a life coach and mentor to dozens of people here in Tucson. From guiding first-time homeowners to teaching practical life hacks about living within your means, I find joy in helping others see what’s possible when they take control of their financial path.

My Philosophy on Life

I don’t believe the best investment is in stocks—it’s in yourself. If you focus on improving your mind, body, and soul, while staying present in the moment, the rest falls into place. That’s the foundation I live by and the message I share with those I mentor.

Giving Back to the Community

Community is everything. Each year, I dedicate between 60 and 100 volunteer hours to nonprofits in Arizona, Iowa, & Colorado. Whether it’s coaching, supporting events, or just lending a hand, I believe giving back is the key to building a stronger future—for myself, my son, and my community.

In short, I’m Randal Funchess: a father, a traveler, an entrepreneur, and a mentor. My mission is simple—to help people save money, invest in themselves, and live their best life today while building a secure tomorrow.
